Competition in the business world is tough enough and companies are discovering the advantages of opting IT infrastructure such as websites and mobile apps to stay here, and survive. Of course the websites and apps can help companies meeting the requirements of their people, partner and prospects.
But still things aren’t utterly obvious. A new business, for example, planning to span itself may live in doubts whether a responsive website will work or will it need a native mobile application development.
On the other hand, we have native mobile application development technology which is specific to devices and every time you need an app for other platform, you will either need to design a new app or port the existing one.
But smart IT solution providers suggest to keep pace with both and as we haven’t reached a saturated level where one can be discarded for other one or one become obsolete because of other one. So we need both websites and mobile apps.
No one can deny from the fact that it’s easy to use desktops in comparison of mobile devices. You can rapidly move around the entire system, do multiple things at a time and access more on the web. But on the flip side desktops are large in size, heavy in weight and cannot easily be carried wherever we want to go. So we have tablets and smartphones as solution for the issues like portability and mobility which we do not experience with desktop or laptops computers.
It’s not advised to any business that it should scrap its website because of mobile apps even if statistics say that the web is now getting more traffic from mobile devices in comparison of websites. Also, it is not advised to any business to ignore mobile technology whereas for people of whole world, smartphones and tablets have become the first computing screen.
A responsive website is cheap and reliable way to stay online without any fear of compatibility. Having cross-platform compatibility is inherent attribute of web technologies. In this way, websites are universal form of online existence and people who do not use smart devices can also access a business through their websites.
Now, we come to mobile apps. They are a bit expensive and targeted to specific platforms. It means if you want to target those people who are using Android powered devices, you will need an Android-version of the app. And for iOS, your will need the iOS-version and so on. This is definite that staying online through mobile apps is several times more expensive than staying online through a website. But again we cannot disregard mobile apps particularly when several data research and analysis firms have declared that the web is getting more visits from mobile devices in comparison of desktops and laptops. So we need both.
